Receiving and sharing skills with organizations
What it means to receive skills from an organization
Organizations on Dokimazo (e.g. companies, training providers, schools) can assign skills to their members, either within a qualification or as a recognition of specific activities.
When you are connected to an organization:
- A new assigned skill may appear in your Wallet.
- You may receive a notification via email or directly on the platform.
- The skill will display the name of the organization that assigned it.
How to accept a received skill
When you receive a new skill, you will see a confirmation request via email or directly in your Wallet.
- You can accept the skill and add it to your Wallet.
- Once accepted, you can add your own evidences or link projects to show how you applied that skill.
Differences between personal skills and organization-assigned skills
| Feature | Personal Skills | Organization-assigned Skills |
|---|---|---|
| How it's added | Manually or via Dokipilot | Automatically by the organization |
| Editable | Yes | No |
| Requires confirmation | No | Yes (manual acceptance) |
| Linked to qualification | Optional | Often, but not always |
| Additional evidences | Always possible | Recommended to strengthen validation |
Skills linked to qualifications
In many cases, the skills you receive come from a qualification assigned in an organizational context. For example:
- A company may assign you the “Team Leader” qualification with 5 linked skills.
- A training provider may recognize your participation in a course with 3 specific skills.
These skills will appear in the “Shared Areas in Profile” section of your dashboard and in the profile of the Skill Wallet to which the qualification was assigned.
All skills within a qualification can be validated by the organization through evaluations performed by authorized users. You can also add your own evidences to these skills, just like any other skill in your Wallet.
Sharing your personal skills with an organization
You can choose to share any of your personal skills with one or more organizations with which you have a shared area in your Wallet.
This will make the skill and its evidence timeline visible to the organization, even if your Wallet is not public. Shared skills become eligible for validation by authorized personnel in the organization (e.g. HR or your qualification manager).
The organization cannot modify or restrict your personal skills.
Reusing organization-assigned skills in other profiles or with other organizations
If the skills you received from an organization are not restricted, you can:
- Add them to other profiles in your Wallet (e.g. to highlight them in volunteering, sport, or personal projects).
- Share them in other shared areas with different organizations.
This way, you can receive evaluations from multiple organizations on the same skill and centralize the evidence (e.g. skills gained through volunteering that are relevant to your job, and vice versa).
What happens if you disconnect from an organization
If the connection with an organization is removed or a qualification is revoked:
- Non-restricted skills remain in your Skill Wallet, with all associated evidences. You become the owner and can continue to share or validate them as you wish.
- Restricted skills are revoked and will no longer be visible in your Wallet, including their evidences.
- The qualification remains as an authentic evidence in your Evidences section.
